Among the heritage of good books to which we are heirs are the commentaries of the English Wesleyan scholar, J. A. Beet. Schmul Publishers are to be commended for bringing to us this rich commentary on Second Corinthians. J. A. Beet was recognized in his day, around the turn of the last century, as an acknowledged Biblical expositor of first rank in the British Wesleyan Church. But Beet was not infallible. He was not inspired in the sense the Biblical authors were. With all the deep, scholarly insight and exposition of the Word we will not always agree with him. Neither the publisher nor this writer endorse Beet’s interpretation at every point.

     Nevertheless, here is a book that will enrich the mind, enlarge the soul, and enhance the ministry. We rejoice that it is being made available to the public.
